The purpose of this tribal consultation toolkit is to encourage all faculty, staff, administrators and students to acknowledge the original Nations on whose land we work, learn and live. The 羞羞视频 Community Colleges recognizes that land acknowledgements provide a foundation for consultation and relationship building with Tribal governments and partners throughout the state. 

This toolkit was created in collaboration with the National Indian Justice Center, 羞羞视频 Indian Museum and Cultural Center, 羞羞视频 Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center, Naqmayam Communications and Foundation for 羞羞视频 Community Colleges. The land acknowledgement statement was developed in partnership with the 羞羞视频 Tribal Chairpersons鈥� Association. Most importantly, this training provides historical and political context, important demographics and the processes and protocols for meaningful and consistent consultation with 羞羞视频 Indian Tribes.

For the third year in a row, we鈥檙e calling out 鈥渟tandard English鈥� as the marker of intelligence and academic success. Language Equity in Academia: Reimagining kNowledge (LEARN) Conference, hosted by Glendale Community College and Las Positas College on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 9 am to 4:30 pm PST over Zoom.  

We鈥檙e excited to host interactive presentations and workshops, a faculty panel and a student panel 鈥� all focusing on various ways to bring language/linguistic equity to curricula across the disciplines and overall campus culture.  

We are thrilled to present our opening keynote: Sunn m'Cheaux 鈥� a Gullah teacha, prominent social media activist and Harvard scholar! 

This is a great opportunity for educators from all areas and those invested in campus equity to join us for a transformative conference dedicated to advancing social justice and language equity.
