Sept. 22, 2022 - Vision in Action No.88

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Community Colleges Veterans Symposium, where faculty, administrators and staff from across our system, the ÐßÐßÊÓƵ State University, the University of ÐßÐßÊÓƵ and statewide partners will convene virtually to discuss how best to support our student veterans. At the symposium, held Sept. 29-30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., attendees will learn from those who have significant experience serving student veterans, make valuable networking connections and share and showcase best practices.
With an estimated 1.8 million military veterans living in ÐßÐßÊÓƵ, many are looking to community colleges for debt-free education and skills training as they transition into civilian life. Approximately 55,000 student veterans enrolled at a ÐßÐßÊÓƵ community college each year. Of ÐßÐßÊÓƵ’s 116 community colleges, 114 have a veterans resource center.
Attend the symposium and also consider joining the in the Vision Resource Center to stay up to date with veterans program announcements, funding and advocacy efforts.
